Springfield's Betz & Associates will bring another Starbucks to Ocean City, N.J.

The Boardwalk of Ocean City, N.J. will gain a Starbucks this summer thanks to a Springfield company, writes Andrew Parent for The Gazette of Ocean City.

John Betz, President and CEO of Springfield-based Betz & Associates and his business partner Pierce Keating, are opening a seasonal Starbucks on the 800 block of the Ocean City Boardwalk. The pair brought the popular coffee chain to Ocean City three years ago, and they own five other stores, including the year-round one at 11th Street and Asbury Avenue in Ocean City.

Betz said that the latest Ocean City Starbucks is expected to open on June 8 with 15 seats and will offer the complete Starbucks menu. It will operate seven days a week until the end of September with plans to keep the store running on weekends in October, November, and December and to close it from January 1 until March.

Planned hours are 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. until July 4th, with the possibility of pushing the closing time to midnight from July 4th until Labor Day depending on demand.
