Fearless Restaurants is bringing a bold new vision to the Main Line, and it’s not what they originally had planned, according to Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The hospitality group has scrapped its Testa Rossa concept for the former Bertucci’s at 523 W. Lancaster Ave. in Wayne, replacing it with Martini & Roz, an upscale Italian restaurant that sounds anything but ordinary. Think retro-futurist design, open kitchens, a tasting counter, and a glass-enclosed cheese cave.
The shift, according to Sydney Grims, Fearless Restaurants’ director of business development, was driven by the runaway success of the group’s nearby Triple Crown venue and a clear appetite among diners for restaurants that feel as immersive and energetic as the food they serve.
Regional executive chef Merick Devine will lead culinary direction on a lineup spanning seafood, steaks, wood-fired pizzas, house-made pasta, and charcuterie, rounded out by a nightly tasting menu paired with Italian cocktails, mocktails, and wine.
The 7,500-square-foot space will seat more than 300 guests across indoor and outdoor dining areas and is expected to bring around 75 jobs to the area when it opens in late summer or early fall.
The name itself carries personal meaning: Martini & Roz honors the parents of Fearless founder Marty Grims, and the grandparents of Sydney Grims, weaving themes of family and cultural connection into the experience from the ground up.
Philadelphia-based Rohe Creative is behind the design, which will feature dramatic arches, sculptural lighting, curved banquettes, and bold red accents, a fitting backdrop for what could become one of the Main Line’s most talked-about new dining destinations.
