Power Home Remodeling Tops Computerworld’s IT Workplace Rankings

Power Home Remodeling in Chester has been recognized for making technology a core business strategy.

Power Home Remodeling’s strategy of making technology a core business strategy has earned it the number one spot among midsize companies for the 2026 Best Places to Work in IT, writes Timothy Alexander for MyChesco.

The honor was bestowed by Computerworld.

It’s the first time Power, headquartered in Chester, has ranked No. 1 in the category. It took sixth place in 2025.

Computerworld’s annual list highlights employers that challenge IT professionals while offering them incentives like strong benefits, engagement, and career development opportunities.

Marc Sule, Power’s chief business technology officer, said the company has invested in its technology stack, encouraging its technologists to take ownership and grow their careers.

Power develops a lot of its technology in-house and opens up nontraditional paths to IT roles.

It created the Power Coding Academy, an internal training program that shows employees who don’t have a technical background how to develop software skills.

From there, graduates can move into technology roles, including apprentice developer positions.

About 35 employees have completed the academy.

The top ranking signals that a construction and home remodeling company can compete with traditional technology firms through internal innovation and sustained investment.
