There’s a bakery in Upper Darby where banana pudding and cupcakes meet.
Cupcake Marty Going Bananas at 9004 West Chester Pike greets you with banana wallpaper, then invites you to come inside and get something sweet.
It was recently featured by Bob Kelly on Breakfast With Bob at Fox 29
The owner grew up in her mother’s bakery and started competing with her own baked goods in high school.
She ended up with a half-tuition scholarship to the Culinary Institute of America.
The banana pudding started during COVID.
“And in high school, I was known for doing cupcakes. I kind of just combined it both, and just started going bananas,” she said.
At Cupcake Marty, you’ll find award-winning cupcakes, like a maple bacon cupcake topped with candy bacon or a strawberry shortcake cupcake.
For banana pudding confections, there are four pudding flavors to choose from, including the popular Biscoff cookie flavor.
Try a banana split, with chocolate, strawberry, and plain pudding, caramelized pineapple, fresh strawberries, and chocolate sauce.
There’s also banana pudding nachos.
The bakery also features a variety of cookies and quick breads, including banana nut bread and sweet potato pound cake.
