HBO’s hit show Task has put Chester County in the spotlight, with scenes filmed across the area, from Coatesville to Phoenixville and beyond, write Nick Vadala and Sam Morris for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Coatesville makes its first appearance in episode two, when the Dark Hearts motorcycle gang rides through the Lincoln Highway and 2nd Avenue intersection. The episode also transforms the Polish American Citizens Club into the fictional Lefty’s Taproom, the gang’s clubhouse and bar.
In the same episode, viewers see the main character, Tom, find his daughter in the dugout of a baseball field at the real-life Phoenixville Area High School.
Episode three features an exterior shot of Coatesville Police Department, where the Task team interrogates two suspects.
In episode four, Tom drives past I-76 Exit 320 in Malvern on his way to meet his fellow taskforce members, and viewers catch a brief shot of the clock face on the City Clock Apartments tower in Coatesville.
The Coatesville-Downingtown Bypass appears in episode five as the task force searches for Tom, who emerges from the woods in Marsh Creek State Park.
Episode seven uses High Bridge as the dramatic location where one of the protagonists’ fates gets decided.
