The average home value in the United States was $367,965 in July, 0.2 percent higher than the year before.
Location, size, age, and condition all contribute to a home’s value, and here in Delaware County, three communities are leading the way in the Philadelphia metro area for home prices, according to Stacker.
Stacker compiled the top 30 most expensive towns for homes using data from Zillow for 235 cities and towns that show the monthly typical home value since January 2018.
Coming in 23rd was Media Borough, where a typical home value was $632,240 in January 2025, up from $395,000 eight years ago, with a one-year price rise of 3 percent and a five-year price rise of 45.3 percent.
Coming in 18th was Garnet Valley, where a typical home value was $687,547 in January 2025, up from $430,000 eight years ago, with a one-year price rise of 4.3 percent and a five-year price rise of 51.9 percent.
Glen Mills placed 14th on the list. A typical home value there was $696,367 in January 2025, up from $445,000 eight years ago, with a one-year price rise of 4.5 percent and a five-year price rise of 50.8 percent.
