Ali Barkley, Younger Brother to Saquon Barkley, Joins WCU Football for Victorious Season Opener

Montgomery, Delaware, and Chester counties are moving quickly to shield their LGBTQ residents from discrimination at the local level.

West Chester University football fans will recognize a familiar last name with the addition of Ali Barkley to the team, writes Wakisha Bailey for CBS News.

Ali, younger brother to Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley, plays as running back for the 2025-2026 season.

Barkley shared that the duo always played football throughout their childhood, and Saquon still instills confidence in Ali. About having a legendary football player as his brother, Barkley said, “I get to talk to him, hang out, learn things from him, and bring it onto the field.”

The Golden Rams are already off to a strong start. The team recently won against Bentley University in Massachusetts. Additionally, Barkley rushed for rushed for fifty-six yards and scored a touchdown in a match up with California University of Pennsylvania.

The team continues to train hard for the upcoming season. Looking towards the first home game of the season set for this Saturday, morale has already skyrocketed.

The Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band will perform all weekend, including a pep rally performance and the halftime show. Family, friends, and alumni will cheer on the team in the match up against Seton Hall University.

About the hope and determination for the upcoming season, running back Jamir “Future” Robertson said, “2025-2026, West Chester on top. Let’s go get this W.”
