Malvern resident and Eagles football player Saquon Barkley is adding another accomplishment to his ever-growing list, writes James Russell for Onward State.
This time, the accomplishment comes from the popular video game Madden NFL 26, which Barkley has landed himself on the cover of.
Barkley joins the ranks of 23 other athletes to be featured on the game’s cover. However, he forges a path for Penn State football players, as he is the first alumnus to earn the feature.
Barkley had himself a superb 2025-2026 season as a part of the Philadelphia Eagles, taking home the Super Bowl LIX win. He was also named the 2024 NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
Barkley topped the NFL in rushing yards this season, setting a personal best with 2,005 yards and becoming only the ninth player in league history to surpass the 2,000-yard milestone.
He also contributed 278 receiving yards for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Barkley becomes the second consecutive running back featured on the cover of Madden. He follows Christian McCaffrey of the 49ers, who was on the Madden 25 cover.
Madden NFL 26 is scheduled to launch on Aug. 14. 2025 across all platforms.
