Here’s All You Need to Know to Participate in This Year’s Delco Gives

Children hold up signs giving a running tally of how much was being raised at Delco Gives Day during a celebration in 2024 at Rose Tree Park in Media.

The donation period for this year’s Delco Gives runs May 8 and 9, but celebratory events kick off Wednesday, May 7, at 6 PM, at Media Borough’s Dining Under the Stars.

Join The Foundation for Delaware County at Olive and State Street in Media to help launch Delco Gives

Cecily Tynan from 6abc Philadelphia will serve as emcee for the evening and will do her weather reports live from State Street to kick things off. There will be musical and dance performances from the Media Theatre, Next Gen Theatre, and Summer Stage’s Shooting Stars.

On Thursday, May 8, The Foundation will host Community Tailgate celebrations throughout the county. Foundation staff and volunteers will be out with signs, passing out coffee coupons, and providing information about Delco Gives.

They will be joined by sponsors and other supporters. The tailgates take place:

  • Lancaster Farmers Market in Wayne: 7:30 to 9 AM.
  • Team Toyota in Glen Mills: 7:30 to 9 AM.
  • Veterans Memorial in Newtown Square: 7:30 to 9 AM.
  • Media Real Estate (203 E. Baltimore Ave in Media): 7:30 to 9 AM.
  • Chester (Delco Literacy Council): 8 to 9:30 AM
  • Swarthmore (with Power Home Remodeling, exact location TBD): 9 to 11 AM.

Closing Celebration: Join the Foundation on Friday, May 9, at Rose Tree Park to celebrate Delco Gives 2025 from 5 to 7:30 PM. The event is similar to last year, with more than 170 nonprofits represented, and includes iHeart Radio, cash prizes, games, and food trucks.

This year, it will also feature a Power Home remodeling flag football tournament benefitting Delco Gives, as well as beer and wine for sale.

Everything you need—the list of nonprofits, event info, and how to give—is at DelcoGives.org.

Last year, Delco Gives raised over $1.7 million for nearly 281 local nonprofits, thanks to nearly 10,000 donors. Let’s make 2025 even bigger.

This year, 300+ nonprofits that serve Delaware County are part of Delco Gives. You can learn about them and donate online at DelcoGives.org.

The best part?

  • You only need $10 to donate.
  • It takes less than 5 minutes.
  • All proceeds go directly to participating nonprofits.
  • Thanks to special cash prizes AND bonus dollars, your gifts can have a greater impact on May 8 and 9 than at any other time of the year. (Bonus funding is based on the number of donors, not the donation amount).
  • 85% of nonprofits last year got support from first-time donors.
  • The median donation was just $30—proving that small gifts make a big difference.
