Ever since television chef Gordon Ramsay was spotted mid-March in Upper Darby near Wilson’s Secret Sauce barbecue restaurant there’s been speculation that the restaurant will be featured on one of Ramsey’s popular episodes of Kitchen Nightmares.
Now there’s a new possibility. Ramsay is launching a new series, Secret Service, set to premiere May 21 on Fox, writes Victor Fiorillo for Philadelphia Magazine.
Wilson’s owner isn’t saying a word about any of it.
Kitchen Nightmares helps restaurant owners get back on their feet and keep customers coming through the door.
The new series, which focuses on America’s filthiest restaurants, would hardly be complimentary to Wilson’s Secret Sauce, which “always seemed quite clean.” Filorillo wrote.
Health inspection reports from the past few years show only minor infractions and “absolutely nothing alarming,” Fiorillo wrote.
“So is Wilson’s Secret Sauce one of America’s filthiest restaurants? I find that incredibly hard to believe,” Fiorillo wrote.
The concept of Secret Service, according to a Fox press release, has Ramsay working with a restaurant “secret insider” at night using surveillance equipment, gathering “raw, unfiltered evidence” to uncover the major issues at each restaurant.
