Bonner-Prendie President John E. Cooke Grand Marshal for Springfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Bonner-Prendergast High School President John E. Cooke is the 2025 Grand Marshal for Springfield's St. Patrick's Day Parade.

This year’s Delaware County St. Patrick’s Day Parade will feature Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast High School President John E Cooke, Ed.D as grand marshal.

The Springfield parade takes place March 15. 

Cooke, a Springfield resident, has been the Bonner-Prendergast High School president for 10 years, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

This year’s parade is scheduled to kick off at noon on Saturday, March 15.

Cooke is a member and has served on the board of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Dennis Kelly Division 1 (Delaware County.)

He’s been seen in the past frequently marching in the Springfield and Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day parades dressed as St. Patrick.

Cooke is the current Springfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee treasurer.

In 2024, he was named to the Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade Ring of Honor.

“For someone like me, who is so very proud of being Irish, it truly is a great honor to serve as grand marshal for the Springfield St. Patrick’s Day parade and to represent my family, heritage, Bonner & Prendie, and the AOH Division,” Cooke said.
