11 Area Nonprofits Receive $22K in Foundation Associates Board Grants

Level the Playing Field, which provides donated sports equipment to kids in need, was a recipient of an Associates Board Community Grant.

The Foundation for Delaware County has awarded more than $22,000 in grant awards to 11 area nonprofits through the Foundation’s new Associates Board Community Grants Program.

The Associates Board of The Foundation for Delaware County is comprised of young professionals committed to making positive change in Delaware County.

Grants were awarded to the following organizations:

  • Campbell Community Center (funding made possible thanks to The Billings Fund held at  The Foundation for Delaware County)
  • Centro de Apoyo Comunitario
  • Chester Upland Youth Soccer/Youth Development United (YDU)
  • Fostering Hope Delco
  • Health Educated, Inc
  • Lansdowne Economic Development Corp. 
  • Leveling the Playing Field  
  • Loaves of Love Food Pantry  
  • Pals for Life Association 
  • Trinity Transitional House
  • William Trippley Youth Development Foundation 

“The Associates Board represents the next generation of philanthropic leadership in Delaware County. These young professionals bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and energy to our mission,” said Monika Collins, Chief Advancement Officer at The Foundation for Delaware County.

The Associate Board members are:

  • Danielle Griffin, Franklin Mint Credit Union
  • Dana Hinton, WSFS Bank
  • Haley Langan, Corient
  • Krista Seng, Aqua Pennsylvania
  • Kristen McCabe, Brinker Simpson
  • Molly Belmont, Gallagher
  • Jim Myers, Power Home Remodeling

 “Comprised of emerging leaders from diverse backgrounds and industries, the Associates Board plays a crucial role in expanding the Foundation’s reach and impact in our community.

Associate Board members receive support from their employers, understanding that “investing in community leadership development yields invaluable returns,” Collins said.

“Through their commitment, this next generation of leaders are gaining a deep understanding of emerging needs while also helping to shape the future of philanthropy in our region.”

In addition to the Community Grants Program, the Board is planning to host fundraising events to add to the funds available to grant to nonprofits each year.

A Feb. 8 pickleball tournament will be held at the Community YMCA in Springfield which will directly support local nonprofits.

On May 8-9, 2024, the Foundation launched Delaware County’s first online giving day, Delco Gives. Delco Gives raised more than $1.7M from more than 9,600 donors for 281 nonprofits.

A second annual Delco Gives Day will take place May 8-9, 2025.
