Associates Board Community Grants Announced by the Foundation for Delaware County

The Associates Board of The Foundation for Delaware County is comprised of young professionals. They recently released grant awards to 12 local nonprofits.

The Foundation for Delaware County recently announced $30K in grant awards to 12 area nonprofits through the Foundation’s second annual Associates Board Community Grants Program.

The Associates Board of The Foundation for Delaware County is comprised of young professionals committed to making positive change in our county.

“Serving on the Associates Board has been a meaningful way to give back to the community I live and work in, while supporting the important work of nonprofits across Delaware County,” said Bryan Tracy, who is part of the Foundation’s Associates Board. “Reviewing grant applications alongside other young professionals has deepened my understanding of local needs and the powerful impact these organizations have. It’s been rewarding to contribute to a group that is committed to strengthening our community through philanthropy.”

Grants were awarded to the following organizations:

A Child’s Light: $2,500 to expand access to mental health support and therapeutic resources for children and adolescents in Delaware County.

A Moment of Magic: $2,500 to deliver high-quality psychosocial education and training to student volunteers.

Center for Integration and Migrant Support: $2,500 to strengthen community outreach and engagement for a GED preparation program in Delaware County.

CMPRadio Foundation: $2,500 to purchase equipment that will enhance efforts to empower youth, families, and neighborhoods in Chester and Delaware County through media, education, and authentic community engagement.

Defy Ventures: $2,500 to support SCI-Chester programming that shifts perceptions about individuals with criminal records and provides participants with a meaningful second chance.

Families Creating Communities for Adults with Special Needs (Families CCAN): $2,500 to expand support programs for individuals with disabilities aged 16+ and their families in Delaware County.

Folcroft Public Library: $2,500 to advance free and equitable access to information, ideas, and learning opportunities.

Kelly Music for Life: $2,500 to strengthen community cohesion through music and the arts by supporting PATH students with stipends.

Legacy Arts: $2,500 to empower Chester youth through arts-based programming.

Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry: $2,500 to assist with the purchase of a refrigerated food locker to support safe food distribution.

Purple House Project: $2,500 to support the purchase and renovation of space dedicated to preventing intimate partner violence.

Well Rooted: $2,500 to recruit and train new mentors who will nurture and empower young adults and families entering, exiting, or involved in the foster system.

“Families CCAN is a small nonprofit supporting individuals with disabilities and their families in the greater Philadelphia area. For several years, we’ve been providing opportunities for our community in Delaware County to come together for free resource-sharing, relationship-building, and fun with neighbors. Funding from the Foundation’s Associates Board allows us to expand this program, meet more frequently (not just in public parks!), and engage additional community members. Building community, especially for adults with disabilities, is an intentional process. We are so grateful to have partners like the Foundation and its Associates Board who recognize this need,” said Sara Crimm, Co-Founder and Director of Families CCAN.

A complete list of grants awarded can be found on The Foundation for Delaware County website.

In addition to the Community Grants Program, the Board is hosting the second annual Pickleball for Delco fundraiser on Feb. 7 at the Springfield YMCA. Proceeds from this event will directly support local nonprofits.
