Buckingham’s Candlewyck Tavern Rebranded Under New Owners

The Candlewyck Tavern, a historic landmark in Buckingham, has changed hands after decades of family ownership, writes Michele Haddon for the Bucks County Courier Times.

Mike and Dan Carey, longtime owners, finalized the sale last week to Tubby Kushner, Michael Guagliardo, and Martin Hoeger—veteran local businessmen known for their success with Steam and Handsome Devils Barber Lounge

Guagliardo, owner of Miracolo Hair Studio, joins forces with Kushner and Hoeger to breathe new life into the tavern while preserving its historic charm.

Rebranding the establishment as “The Wyck,” the new owners plan exterior enhancements, fresh decor, and a revamped menu led by Chef Mike Breslin.

The menu will feature healthier options alongside beloved staples like the famous fried chicken and burgers.

The trio also plans to expand the drink menu with specialty craft cocktails.

In addition to the tavern, the new owners acquired the Buckingham Shopping Center, aiming to integrate the tavern further into the community.
