Five Delaware County communities continued to place in the top 49 wealthiest towns for 2024 compared to a year ago, but three of the towns dropped in rank for wealth, while two had higher wealth rankings this year.
Rose Valley Borough tied for the highest median income in Pennsylvania, with 56.1 percent of its households earning over $200,000 a year, writes Chris Ullery for the Bucks County Courier Times, as reported in phillyburbs.com.
It tied for first place with Fox Chapel Borough in Allegheny County, according to the five-year American Community Survey.
In 2023, Rose Valley placed 10th in Pennsylvania.
Thornbury Township, which placed 11th in 2023, moved up to take 10th in 2024. Household median income there is $193,553.
Bethel Township dropped a few slots. It placed 24th in 2023 but came in 29th in 2024. Household median income is $161,654.
Chadds Ford dropped several places in this year’s rankings, placing 22nd in 2023 but coming in 39th this year. Its households have a median income of $156,307.
Radnor Township, which placed 43rd in the state in 2023, was 44th this year. Its households had a median income of $150,863.
