50 of Pennsylvania’s Wealthiest Towns Include 5 From Delaware County

Five Delaware County communities ranked among Pennsylvania's wealthiest towns, based on median income.

A lot of Pennsylvania’s wealthiest towns are concentrated in the southeast. This region is home to 37 of Pennsylvania’s 50 wealthiest towns based on median income, writes Chris Ullery for the Bucks County Courier Times, as reported in Phillyburbs.

Of the 50 total, five are Delaware County communities, according to a five-year American Community Survey estimate.

Rose Valley Borough places the highest among the Delaware County towns for wealth, ranking 10th among the 50.

Its median household income is $185,00, and 49 percent of its residents make more than $200,000.

Thornbury Township ranked just below it, coming in 11th. Its median household income is $185,3134, with 48 percent of its residents earning $200,000 or more.

Chadds Ford Township placed 22nd with a household income of $151,34. About 38 percent of its residents earn more than $200,000.

Bethel Township was 24th, with a median household income of $150,877. Thirty-one percent of its residents earn more than $200,000.

Radnor Township placed 43rd in the state. Its median household income is $139,07, with 38 percent of its residents making more than $200,000.
