A restored and upgraded Cobbs Creek Golf Campus includes educational, community and recreational facilities.

The historic Cobbs Creek Golf Course, which shares territory in Upper Darby and West Philadelphia, is becoming the Cobbs Creek Golf Campus, a modern facility that will offer new golf opportunities and a chance to educate, writes Miklos Breitner for Golf Business Monitor.

The Cobbs Creek Golf Campus will phase in over three years.

A new short course, a TGR Learning Lab, and Toptracer, a state-of-the-art golf entertainment venue, will open in 2025.

TGR Design, utilizing Tiger Wood’s vision, is creating the short course. It will provide a world-class golf experience to the local community and will be accessible to all ages and abilities.

The TGR Learning Lab, created through a partnership between the Cobbs Creek Foundation and the TGR Foundation, a Tiger Woods charity, will provide a STEM education, college access, and career readiness programs to 4,500-plus local 1st through 12th-grade students per year.

Toptracer will have practice bays, a Heritage Center to learn about the history of Cobbs Creek, a golf retail pro shop, an indoor-outdoor bar, a restaurant, and a community event space.

A restored Olde Course opens in 2026, while a new 9-hole course opens in 2027.  Flood control and creek restoration are also planned.
