In Rachel Grace’s five seasons with the Villanova Wildcats, she’s developed quite a reputation among the basketball managers of the Big East, writes Gabriella Galati for 6abc.

Known as “RG,” she’s made a difference for the women’s basketball team through her vibrancy, charisma, and larger-than-life personality.

“We can put a lot of pressure on ourselves, going into a practice and a game,” said senior guard Bella Runyan. “But she’s there to basically lighten the mood.”

She sets an example for the young women of the team to use their voices and not be shy, according to head coach Denise Dillon.

Jess Genco, director of women’s basketball operations, is a close friend of RG, picking her up every morning on the way to campus.

“It’s the best way to start your day,” Genco said. “She’s such a beacon of light that people are just drawn to her.”

Off the court, RG and the team watch Eagles games together, go to Starbucks, and keep in touch via Facetime.  It’s more than basketball.  It’s a family.

“I love everybody, and I love all of them. They’re like my sisters,” Rachel Grace said.
