AmeriHealth Caritas Plans to Sublease Newtown Square Office Still Being Built
A new AmeriHealth Caritas office building at the Ellis Preserve in Newtown Square is still under construction but the Medicaid managed care company is already looking for a tenant to sublease some of the space.
The five-story mass timber building is scheduled to be ready by the summer, writes Paul Schwedelson for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
It’s being developed by Equus Capital Partners at 203 Squire Drive. AmeriHealth has signed a lease to use the entire 106,000-square-foot space. Construction started on the building a year ago.
AmeriHealth Caritas declined to comment on why they were marketing some of the space.
Plans call for the company to move its headquarters, located a half mile away at 3875 West Chester Pike on the Ellis Preserve, to the new building.
It had leased the original headquarters building as part of a plan to add 1,000 employees over a few years.
AmeriHealth Caritas also has space near the Philadelphia International Airport, the site of its previous headquarters.
The company is undergoing a leadership change, with Kelly A. Munson taking over as CEO today, Feb. 1.
