The D3lco Effect company has created Scents of Delco homemade soy candles, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

If you want to relive the fresh apple smell of Linvilla Orchards or revive the smells of the Jersey Shore, there’s a candle for that.

What else? How about candles with names like Down by the Crick, Blizzard of ’96, Delco the Halls, Everybody’s Hometown, Love Ya Hun, Rose Tree Park, Pocono Bonfire, Dining Under The Stars, The Main Line, Sundee Mornin and Up the Blue Route?

“Every candle represents one of our favorite Delco-isms by transforming them into warm and inviting scents while being aesthetically pleasing in any setting,” explained co-owner Leon Beverly, who founded the company with their wife, Renee Beverly, both from Morton.

The homemade candles are available for purchase on their website and, in 2024, will be available at 24 retail locations around the region.

Business has been so good that Leon, a Cardinal O’Hara graduate and former Brookhaven resident, left a full-time job to devote to the candle business.

Renee Ziegler Beverly, also a Cardinal O’Hara graduate, grew up in Aston.  Both are “Delco, through and through.”

Find out how the D3lco Effect company got started at the Daily Times.
