Bucks County Townships to Receive $3.9 Million Boost from Parx Casino Revenues
Several Bucks County townships are getting $3.9 million in funds generated by Parx Casino in Bensalem, and awarded by the county’s redevelopment authority, writes Corey Sharp for Play Pennsylvania.
The funds will go towards dozens of community improvement projects. The nearly $4 million in awards will be distributed among forty grants that will benefit infrastructure, first responders, and health and human service projects.
“The Municipal Grant Program continues to play a pivotal role in supporting various projects aimed at offsetting gaming impacts. These projects will address quality-of-life issues as well as invest in infrastructure improvements, health and public safety initiatives in municipalities impacted by gaming,” said Ralph DiGuiseppe, the chairman of the Authority Board of Bucks County.
As the region’s top casino, the facility has seen major success in 2023, generating $537.7 million in revenue alone in November.
Parx Casino in Bensalem offers over 300 slot machines, the most in the entire state. It also is one of the two smoke-free locations in Pennsylvania.
