Your favorite sledding hills are all over the region, including one place in Delaware County.

With a lack of any significant snowfall in nearly two years, sledding may be a forgotten art in these parts.

But now that the landscape is once again snow-bound, local hills are just waiting for some eager sledders to stop by.

Fortunately, you won’t have to go far to find a favorite sledding hill, writes Nick Vadala for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Here in Delaware County, Rose Tree Park in Media is a great choice, with 120 acres of gentle, rolling slopes ideal for both young and inexperienced sledders.

Beyond Delaware County, Marsh Creek State Park in Downingtown provides a whopping seven acres of sledding hills to choose from.

Newtown’s Tyler State Park is huge and is basically one giant downhill slope. Some of the best spots are just below its Upper Plantation Picnic Area parking lot.

Nockamixon State Park in Quakertown also has a great sledding spot in the area above the park’s marina.

Finally, in addition to being a historic landmark, Valley Forge National Historical Park features great sledding places for the entire family. Some of the best spots include the hills near Memorial Arch and the statue of Anthony Wayne.
