Jordan Davis Surprised Himself With His Viral Moment on Eagles Christmas Album
It wasn’t easy to convince Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis to join the vocal trio of Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson, and Jordan Mailata on their now annual Christmas album.
Davis declined to sing for the first album, “Philly Special Christmas” and was reluctant to join them at Elm Street Studios for the second album, “A Philly Special Christmas Special,” writes Chris Bumbaca for USA Today, appearing in aol.com
Finally persuaded, he stepped up to the mic and started to sing, not too much, just the bridge on “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.”
But it was enough. That clip of Davis singing has gone viral on social media.
Album producer Charlie Hall said the song, which also features Luke Carlos O’Reilly playing piano, is “sneaky the best song on the album.”
“Watching Luke play that piano part was one of the most chilling studio moments I’ve ever had in my life,” Hall said. “And then the guys just trading verses. Then (Davis) takes that bridge, and it comes from such a tender, emotional place.
“To have (Davis) involved made a really cool thing that much more special,” Hall said.
