Eagles Center Jason Kelce and car dealer Steve Videon co-sponsored Haverford Police's newest K9 officer, Winnie.

The Haverford Township Police have a new K-9 Officer, Winnie, after she was brought on to the force through a sponsoring partnership between Eagles Center Jason Kelce and Steve Videon of Videon Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep & Ram.

Winnie was introduced on Sept. 20, writes Pete Bannan for the Daily Times.

Police confirmed the donation from Kelce and Video covered the cost of the dog and training, which can run up to $15,000.

As part of the sponsorship, Winnie and her handler, Officer Anthony Patterson, met Kelce and his family, as well as the Videon team, police said in a social media post.

Winnie is a 2-year-old black Labrador retriever who was acquired earlier this year from Pacific Coast K-9

Winnie will serve as a narcotics detection dog. She’s a recent graduate of Iron Rose K9 Academy near Carlisle.

The new K-9 officer has been paired with Officer Patterson, and both are already patrolling the streets.

Haverford has four K9 Unit dogs and handlers, one for each shift.

The K-9 unit started in 2013.  Winnie replaces K-9 Barr, who retired in 2022 after working on 450 jobs, including saving the life of a 104-year-old woman who had fallen into a ravine during the winter.
