SAP North America president Lloyd Adams says SAP plans to grow its presence as part of the region's tech ecosystem.

The president of SAP North America in Newtown Square thinks Philadelphia should get “louder” about its tech ecosystem, writes Ryan Mulligan for Philadelphia Business Journal.

SAP wants to grow its presence and help the Philadelphia region make more tech noise, Loyd Adams said.

SAP North America President Lloyd Adams.

Adams has been with SAP since 1998 and has led the North American headquarters in Newtown Square for the past year.

Locally, SAP employs more than 3,500 workers, making it the fourth largest employer in the region that is not in education or medicine.

SAP has the resources and manpower to be a key player in boosting the region’s long-term innovation economy but is often left out of those conversations.

“I think Philly is at an inflection point,” Adams said. “How does it want to evolve? And what does it want to become as it relates to [being] a magnet for employers and for employees and so forth?”

SAP is embracing artificial intelligence, data collection, and cloud technologies, and it has clients across the Fortune 500.

That means there’s an opportunity to foster collaboration and innovation at its Newtown Square headquarters, making the region’s tech ecosystem stronger.
