Three Delaware County colleges made a top 10 list comparing which colleges and universities offer the best value in Pennsylvania.
A study by SmartAsset compared schools based on a variety of factors, including starting salary, tuition, living expenses, student retention rate, and scholarships awarded.
Among the top 10 universities and colleges with the best value were Villanova University, Swarthmore College, and Haverford College.
Villanova placed 6th on the list. Swarthmore placed 7th, and Haverford College placed 10th.
Villanova University awards an average of $38,028 in scholarships and grants, with an annual tuition of $62,903. The median starting salary for graduates is $70,700. Student living costs come to $20,556. The university has a 96 percent student retention rate.
Swarthmore College awards $41,377 in scholarships and grants, with an annual tuition of $62,054. The median starting salary for graduates is $70,800. Student living costs are $21,923. The college has a 95 percent student retention rate.
Haverford College awards $51,927 in scholarships and grants, with an annual tuition of $64,709. The median starting salary for graduates is $65,400. Student living costs are $22,496. The college has a student retention rate of 94 percent.
