U.S. News Names 2 Delaware County Universities to Its Best National College List

Delaware County had two universities that ranked as best national college on the U.S. News annual list.

Two Delaware County universities had the right stuff to make the U.S. News and World Report’s annual best national college list for 2024.

To be considered among the 430 plus universities surveyed, a national school must offer a full range of undergraduate majors, plus master’s and doctoral programs, as well as be committed to producing ground-breaking research.

In this latest list, Villanova University in Radnor placed 67th out of more than 430 plus universities nationally.  It tied for that ranking with five other universities.

Villanova’s 260-acre campus hosts 6,989 undergraduates, who pay annual tuition and fees of $64,906.

It ranked 91st in the nation as a Best Value School and 105th for Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs.

It ranked 25th for its part-time MBA program, 43rd in the nation for its law school, and 171st for Best Engineering Schools.

Also making the U.S. News list was Widener University in Chester, which ranked at 227.

Widener’s 108-acre campus hosts 2,555 undergraduates who pay annual tuition and fees of $53,638.

It ranked 138th in the nation for Best Undergraduate Engineering programs, 183rd in nursing, and 178th in Top Performance on Social Mobility.
