Wawa is looking to open a store as part of a multi-use development on the property of the former Quentin Riding Club in Lebanon County.

The latest Wawa expansion is happening in Lebanon County, where a convenience store will be built at the site of a former riding club, writes Sue Gleiter for Penn Live.

Wawa plans to build a 6,000-square-foot store with indoor seating and gas pumps at 2500 Quentin Road in West Cornwall Township, according to the township.

The site is the former Quentin Riding Club.

The club had been operating since 1935 but disbanded last year.

The store is actually part of a 46-acre planned mixed-used development at the property, with apartments and other retailers.

Property owner Quentin Associates LLC in Ephrata is asking for a special exception for the Wawa with a zoning hearing slated for Aug. 29.

Quentin Associates has entered a sales agreement with Provco Pineville Acquisition for the proposed Wawa. Provco is developing multiple Wawa stores in the region.

Wawa plans to double its store count in central Pennsylvania in the next three to five years.

Plans call for the first central Pennsylvania store to open in 2024. Presently, there is at least a half dozen store in the early development stages for Chambersburg, State College, Swatara, Lower Swatara, and East Pennsboro townships.
