3 Delaware County Towns Make Top PA List of Higher-Priced Homes

Finding a home you can afford has become a real challenge in a marketplace that has seen home prices reach record highs, reports Stacker.

Though home prices are up nationwide, there are some cities with higher-priced homes than in others.

Location, size, age, and condition all determine a home’s value.

Here in Delaware County, three communities made a top 30 list of the most expensive homes in Pennsylvania.

Stacker used data from Zillow, ranking them with the Zillow Home Values Index , as of June 2023. 

In Delaware County, Garnet Valley ranked highest on Stacker’s list for expensive homes. It came in 13th out of 30, with a typical home value of $629,717.

Prices rose 4.4 percent there in one year and have risen 37.4 percent in five years.

Close in rank was Glen Mills which had the 14th most expensive homes in Pennsylvania. Typical home values were $629,209.  Prices rose 5.3 percent in one year and have risen 39.7 percent in five years.

Media Borough was third on the Pennsylvania list. It had the 22nd most expensive homes in the state.

A typical home value was $567,271. Prices rose 4.7 percent over one year and have risen 44 percent in five years.
