CashNetUSA has declared a Delaware County community to be the most expensive neighborhood in all of Pennsylvania, writes Matt DiSanto for Centre Daily Times.

The online lender used data from Zillow, an online real estate platform, to track the most expensive neighborhoods in each state and it listed Villanova as Pennsylvania’s most expensive.

To those who have driven through the mansion-lined streets of Villanova, this news is not likely to come as much of a surprise.

Villanova’s average home price is $3.76 million, according to CashNetUSA.

Villanova, in the heart of the Main Line, is home to Villanova University a prestigious Roman Catholic research university founded in 1842.

It was first recognized as a U.S. Census Bureau-designated place in the 2020 U.S. Census, which estimated a population of 8,213 people.

Almost 97 percent of Villanova’s housing is owner-occupied,

The median household income exceeds $250,000, according to the latest census estimates,

Villanova is home to the historic Camp Woods Estate, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

It offers easy access to Philadelphia and the King of Prussia Mall, as well as local gardens such as Chanticleer or Stoneleigh, as well as the Villanova Theatre and Bryn Mawr Film Institute.
