A Penn Relay record-breaking moment for Sean Dolan

The Penn Relays, one of the largest track and field competitions in the United States, is coming up April 27, and Sean Dolan is counting the days with his Villanova University teammates, reports Aunyea Lachelle for NBC 10 Philadelphia.

Dolan is a four-time all-American on the Villanova men’s track and field team.  He’s also a five-time Big East champion.

He will be participating as a Villanova junior this year, but he’s been competing at the Penn Relays since high school.

At Hopewell Valley Central High School in Mercer County, Dolan anchored a distance medley relay squad with his brother Tim and two best friends at the 2018 Penn Relay.

They set a high school boys Championship of America record at 9:57:77.

“It was unreal,” he said. “I still say it’s my best race on the track ever. Just that moment having my brother and my two other best friends is something I’ll remember forever.”

The Villanova men’s track team has been focused all year on the Penn Relays coming up, Dolan said.

He has confidence in the team’s talent.

“I think we’re more than capable of bringing home a wheel or two,” he said.
