It was a Newtown Square man, Jerry Roscoe, who negotiated a settlement between Dominion Voting Systems and Fox News.

Roscoe is a mediator at JAMS, an international alternative dispute resolution firm.

He was actually with his wife on a cruise in Romania last Sunday when he received an email from Dominion and Fox News attorneys asking for his help to settle the case, writes Joe Flint for The Wall Street Journal.

Dominion Voting Systems had sued Fox, claiming the company aired false claims that its technology rigged the 2020 presidential election in favor of Joe Biden.

Fox argued it was just covering election fraud claims.

The trial was to begin Monday when Roscoe was contacted.

“Next thing I knew I was reading a thousand court transcripts and pleadings,” Roscoe said from Romania.

For the next 24 hours, Roscoe worked with both sides from various locations, including an AmaWaterways cruise from Budapest to Bucharest, a tour bus, and his hotel in Brasov, Romania.

“Everyone on the tour bus was wondering why this obnoxious guy was on the phone all the time,” he said.

Roscoe worked with Fox and Dominion lawyers, negotiating a settlement Tuesday afternoon, with Fox agreeing to pay $787.5 million to Dominion.
