Neumann University is a military-friendly college, listed among the top 20 percent of colleges in the nation for creating sustainable and meaningful opportunities for the military community.

Neumann received a silver designation in 2023-24 from the Military Friendly® rating system owned and operated by VIQTORY, a small business managed by veterans disabled during military service.

The system measures a college’s commitment, effort, and success in creating opportunities for the military community.

More than 1,800 colleges participated in the 2022 Military Friendly survey.

According to the Military Friendly® Schools website, ratings are assessed through the evaluation of both public data about the institution and proprietary data gathered through the survey, which focuses on military student support and retention, graduation and career outcomes, culture and commitment, and financial aid and loan repayment.

Final ratings are determined by combining an institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet benchmarks for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, and loan default rates.

Bettsy McKlaine, director of degree completion and graduate admissions at Neumann, believes that the rating reflects the university’s commitment to the military community.

“Neumann University is dedicated to assisting veterans and members of the military in pursuing higher education and achieving their goals. They have served the country, and now, we are here to help them reach their personal, academic, and professional aspirations.”

Neumann University accepts payments through the GI Bill® for all eligible recipients and is also a Yellow Ribbon school, supporting the program that helps eligible veterans fund their post-secondary education at the public or private school of their choice.

In 2021, U.S. News & World Report ranked Neumann’s online bachelor’s degree for veterans among the top 100 in the country. Rankings were based on a program’s effectiveness at awarding affordable degrees in a reasonable amount of time.

The Military Friendly ratings program was started in 2003 as an advocacy vehicle to encourage civilian organizations to invest in programs to recruit, retain, and advance veterans as employees, entrepreneurs, and students.
