A Delaware County video production company started by Penncrest High School graduate Bill Haley is helping high school seniors figure out which college works best for them through personalized school videos, writes Pete Bannon for the Daily Times.

Allied Pixel, founded in 1993 by Bill Haley of Media is one of the world’s leading producers of data-driven personalized video.

The company’s videos are used by more than 150 colleges for enrollment, financial aid, advancement, and athletics.

“My idea was to explore the possibilities at the intersection of filmmaking and technology to help organizations tell their stories in new and engaging ways,” Haley said during a recent interview.

His company started modestly in his living room on Linden Lane in Media, with help from Penncrest classmate and Columbia University grad, Pete Bretz.

Allied Pixel was one of the early firms to do multimedia, producing CD-ROM programs that interacted with video.

Their first client was the 2,500 students at Cabrini College (now Cabrini University) in Radnor. Now they work with schools coast to coast, and clients include Neumann, Villanova, and St. Joseph’s.

“At our core we’re a bunch of Delco folks but now we’ve got people from all over the country,“ he said.
