3 Delaware County wineries are part of Pennsylvania’s pleasant scenery

Here are three Delaware County wineries that are part of Pennsylvania’s most pastoral vineyards, writes Noelle Allen for philly.eater.com.

Chaddsford Winery, 632 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford delivers sparkling, sweet and dry wines from Gabriel Rubilar on a five-acre property.

There’s a lawn for blankets, and a shaded picnic area is open seven days a week.

Winery tours are in the fall led by winery manager Rachael Rhan.

Penns Woods Winery, 124 Beaver Valley Road in Chadds Ford has a variety of sweet, dry, sparkling, red white and rose wines from winemakers Ginno Razzi and Davide Creato.

The grapes are predominantly grown at the 35-acre facility.

Tastings take place on a covered outdoor deck with tented outdoor space for larger groups.

Local cider and beer are also available.

Grace Winery, 50 Sweetwater Road in Glen Mills sits on a property that traces itself to the 1680s and played a role in the Underground Railroad.

Today, there’s a remodeled barn and tasting room across from a grand manor on a 35-acre estate.

Besides traditional wines from Andrew Yingst, there’s beer and spiked seltzer and a light menu by Chef Dan Wood.
