Two Delco Wineries Get Green Light to Ship Directly to In-State Residents

Two Delaware County wineries have been granted permits to start shipping their wine directly to in-state residents, writes Kenneth Hilario for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board recently approved more than 80 expanded wine permits, following the passing of a recent bill that widened wine and beer sales in grocery stores, licensed restaurants, hotels, and bars. Seventeen of those permits were given to Philadelphia-area establishments.

The reform package also makes it possible for licensed retailers and private wholesalers to ship their wine directly to consumers. As a result, Grace Winery of Glen Mills and William Penn Corp. in Eddystone can now deliver their wines directly to customers’ homes for that special dinner party or other occasion.
