Former Villanova Wildcat and Eagles Player Brian Westbrook Sr. Joins XFL

Former Philadelphia Eagles and Villanova Wildcat player Brian Westbrook, Sr. has joined the X-Treme Football League (XFL) as director of Player Engagement, reports XFL.

Westbrook will oversee team matters related to player experience, player and coach relations, off-field player development, and player marketing.

 “Brian is an incredibly important hire for the XFL as he will be a key driver behind the League’s commitment to holistic player development,” said XFL President Russ Brandon.

Westbrook, Sr. is a nine-season NFL player (eight with the Philadelphia Eagles and one with the San Francisco 49ers.).

After retiring in 2012 he built a successful career as an investor and venture capitalist, a broadcast sports analyst and a mentor to athletes looking to build their off-field careers.

Westbrook, Sr. is also managing director of the Athlete Entrepreneurship Network (AEN). He has chaired the SeventySix Capital’s Athlete Venture Group, focused on investing in startups in sports betting, esports, and sports tech.

Westbrook, Sr. played on the Wildcats football team for four years. He holds numerous school and NCAA records and has been inducted into numerous Halls of Fame.
