SAP America, headquartered in Newtown Square, still made it into the top 100 on a Fortune Magazine 2022 list of Best Places to Work in the US, but it dropped from last year, writes Ryan Mulligan for Philadelphia Business Journal.

It ranked No. 54 this year after placing 29^th in 2021.

Comcast ranked highest in the Philadelphia region, coming in at No. 16.

Chester’s Power Home Remodeling didn’t make the cut this year, after ranking 70 last year.

Besides Comcast and SAP, the only other Pennsylvania company that made the 2022 list was the convenience store chain Sheetz, headquartered in Altoona. It rose a staggering 50 spots from No. 83 to No. 33.

The list is limited to non-government companies with at least 1,000 employees. Companies were chosen based on over 870,000 worker survey responses that include six essay questions directed to companies.

This year, Fortune put more value on diversity, flexibility, and extra days off.

SAP America introduced a “Pledge to Flex” approach last June, allowing employees to work where and when they would like. Ninety-one percent of SAP’s employees surveyed described SAP as a “great place to work.”
