The ‘PA Pride” beer series continues with the introduction of its fifth installment, a Hazy Double Pale Ale created by more than 30 craft breweries in Pennsylvania.

The Hazy 8% Double India Pale Ale will be available April 3, writes Pat Ralph for Philly Voice.

The series pays tribute to the state’s brewery and agriculture industries.

The Double IPA will be sold in 16-ounce cans at more than 20 craft breweries and beer stores across the state.

The beer’s foundation blends Keystone Pale Ale, Colonial Pilsner, Pale Wheat malt and Rolled Oats from Deer Creek Malthouse in Glen Mills Receives Grant to Promote State’s Beer IndustryDeer Creek Malthouse in Glen Mills.

The Double IPA’s South African blend has characteristics of red berries, iced tea and pineapple with a resinous smooth finish.

“For this edition of ‘PA Pride,’ we landed on a delicious recipe for Double IPA to showcase the flavor and mouthfeel-enhancing qualities of Pennsylvania grain complemented by the fresh and experimental flavors and aromas of South African hops,” Deer Creek Malthouse’s Ted Brochu said.

Each beer is made with Pennsylvania-grown and malted grain, organizers said.

Three more “PA Pride” beers are in development for 2022: A Fruited Sour, Multigrain Saison and Amber Lager.
