A $10 million gift from The H. Hovnanian Family Foundation will help with a $60 to $70 million renovation to Villanova University’s library, create an endowed chair in the real estate program and create a new current events speaker series, writes Ryan Mulligan for Philadelphia Business Journal.

It’s the second-largest donation in the past few weeks for the school, which also saw $13.5 million from former Sunoco CEO Jack G. Drosdick and two other tech executives Feb. 22.

The late Hirair Hovnanian gained success in land and housing development. He was a 1956 Villanova graduate, earning a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

The gift establishes the Hovnanian Family Endowed Chair at Villanova’s Daniel M. DiLella Center for Real Estate, with a goal of using its prestige to recruit top faculty talent.

“Three generations of our family have had the honor of attending Villanova — an institution whose educational quality has never been compromised and whose focus on traditional values has ensured its graduates represent the best of what this great country of ours can rely on to be our nation’s future leaders,” said Siran H. Sahakian, vice president of the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation.
