A list of the 146 best colleges and universities in Pennsylvania for 2022 includes nine from Delaware County and three of them rank in the top five, writes Lisa Dukart for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Haverford College in Haverford Township came in third-best in the state, followed by Swarthmore College at No. 4 and Villanova University at No. 5.

Philadelphia has more than 100 four-year colleges and universities.  Ten of those, including the ones from Delaware County, made the list among the top 25 best colleges in Pennsylvania.

The University of Pennsylvania was the top school in the state.

The rankings were determined by looking at U.S. Department of Education data covering academics, student to faculty ratio, campus facilities, diversity, student life, safety, among others.
