Villanova Restaurant, The Refectory, Reopens With New Menu, Owners

By

The Refectory, an upscale restaurant and bar at Lancaster and Ithan Avenues in Villanova, reopened Oct. 25 offering casual but refined dining.

The new owners are local businessmen Ken Kearns of 118 North, Chris Perella of Ardmore Music Hall and 118 North, and Chef Biff Gottehrer of Ripplewood.

They have brought on Steve Khuu, formerly of Enoteca Tredici, to serve as general manager.

Gottehrer will lead the culinary team to create upscale comfort food from a widely varied American menu.

“Everyone can find something to enjoy at The Refectory, whether they’re stopping by on game day, reuniting with friends for a drink at the bar, or looking for a casual weeknight family dinner,” says Ken Kearns, an alumnus of Villanova’s 1992 graduating class.

“My personal experience at Villanova left such a deep impression, so it’s an honor to be able to play any part in the campus experience for students, faculty and surrounding residents.”

Food options will range from handheld snacks to hearty shared entrees. There will be a full raw bar, hand-crafted cocktails, an in-house bread program and an extensive soup and salad selection.

Vegetarian options are available.

A weekend brunch starts Nov. 13.
