Once again, fall has snuck up on us and there’s a promise of orange and yellow ahead.

Fortunately, farms and retailers are happy to put pumpkins at the center of all things.

Here in Delaware County, two locations are offering an immersive fall experience, writes Michelle Reese for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Arasapha Farms

Located in Glen Mills, Arasapha Farms will take you on a hayride to a 4-acre pumpkin garden where you can choose from hundreds of pumpkins.

A $20 admission for children also includes mini-golf, pedal cars, playground access, a corn maze, pillow bounce, and various games. Adults get in free, except for the corn or sunflower maze.

Linvilla Orchards

This year, the annual Linvilla Pumpkinland Festival  in Media  celebrates  50 years.

The very first harvest display created by the late matriarch of the orchard, Peg Linvill, will be exhibited. She won first place for the display at the Philadelphia Horticulture Society Harvest Show.

A Jack-O-Lantern exhibit marks  the last two weeks of October.

The festival has  pumpkins, scarecrows, apple picking, hayrides, corn and straw bale mazes, a 1-acre train ride and a hayride to the Witch’s House for stories and jokes.
