You can spend your weekends on some great hikes in the Greater Philadelphia area that also happen to be near local craft breweries, writes Gina Tomaine and Caroline Cunningham for Philadelphia Magazine

Ridley Creek State Park in Media , with 13 miles of trails, continues to be one of Delaware County’s more popular hiking spots, as well as being a great venue for weddings and events at its Hunting Hill Mansion.

“When you don’t have much time, Ridley Creek is the perfect chance to enjoy fall hiking close to the city,” says Carl Ewald, director for the Great American Brewery Runs and an expert hiking guide. “The elevation change is limited but the park is stunning.”

Nearby, at a short 15-minute drive, is La Cabra Brewing.

“Their food is as good as their beer,” Ewald said. La Cabra offers curbside pick-up as well as socially distant indoor dining and outdoor dining in open-walled tents.

Other trails and breweries:

Nockamixon State Park, and Imprint Beer Co.;

Pulpit Rock and Pinnacle Loop  and Hidden River Brewing Company ;

Hawk Mountainin and Sly Fox Brewing Company;

Mount Tammany  and Funk Brewing;

Mount Minsi, and Separatist Beer Project .
