Iron Hill Brewery, the popular bar-and-restaurant chain with 25 years of brewing experience and 19 locations, has doubled down on Chester County. It has opened its first-ever taphouse in Exton, writes Ed Williams for Main Line Today.

The new location, which also includes a canning operation, offers a casual industrial atmosphere with its pop art and beer-barrel décor.

The counter-service menu offers small plates, bowls, and handhelds. The diverse pub fare includes:

  • Burgers
  • Mini corn dogs
  • Upside-down pizza
  • Pastrami sandwiches
  • Herb-crusted salmon
  • An Asian noodle bowl

Meanwhile, customers choose beer from 26 available taps. Options include the brewery’s signatures — such as the Pig Iron Porter and Light and Vienna Red lagers — and various rotating seasonals. These latter choices include the Girls Just Wanna Saison and Bourbon Dubbel.

The alternative drink offerings include white sake sangria and a classic Manhattan.

And as a bonus, customers can observe the canning operations from the bar.

According to the website, the brewery is named for the Continental soldiers who fought a Revolutionary War battle on Iron Hill outside of Newark, Delaware.

The first Brewery opened in 1996 at 147 E. Main Street in Newark, Delaware.
