Only 14 Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Delaware County From June 9 to June 11

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported Friday, June 11, according to the Chester County Health Department.

The health department is reporting a total of 1,454 COVID-19-related deaths in Delaware County.

Of those, 839 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 48 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

New cases

The Chester County Department of Health site reported 14 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County between June 9 and Friday, June 11. Total cases for June 11 are 49,839.

Prospect Park continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 753, affecting 11.59 percent of its 6,492 population.

Upper Darby has the most total cases, with 7,442 cases reported, or 8.97 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Negative tests

The county has had 251,188 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 95.83 percent recovery rate.

  • 10 to 19: 6,061 cases
  • 20 to 29: 8,416 cases
  • 30 to 39: 7,420 cases
  • 40 to 49: 6.724 cases
  • 50 to 59: 7,497 cases
  • 60 to 69: 5,724 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,798 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,673 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, June 11, there were 940 new cases of COVID-19 statewide. Total cases now number 1,207,875.

The state is reporting 19 COVID-19 deaths for Friday, June 11. Total deaths are  27,457.
