Two Radnor Companies Jump in Rank on Fortune 500 List for 2021

Two Radnor companies ranked higher in 2021 on the Fortune 500, writes Ryan Sharrow for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Fortune 500, compiled annually by Fortune Magazine, uses annual revenue figures to rank publicly traded companies, listing the top 500 corporate revenue generators nationwide.

Thirteen companies from the Philadelphia region made this year’s list.

Lincoln National Corp., based in Radnor, jumped 16 spots to No. 172.  The insurance and investment management company saw a 1% increase in revenue, to $17.4 billion.

Also making the list this year is Radnor-based Avantor, which rose 46 spots to 438.

Avantor provides products and services for the biopharma, healthcare, education, government, advanced technologies industries and applied materials industries.

Its revenue increased 5.8% to $6.39 billion.

Walmart retained the top spot in the Fortune 500, with a 6.7 percent increase in revenue to $559 billion.

Amazon was second, with a 37.6 percent jump in revenue, for a total of $386 billion.

Apple came in third, with a 5.5 percent increase in revenue, at $274 billion.

The 500 corporations on this year’s list generated $13.8 trillion in revenue, or two-thirds of the U.S. economy.
