Delaware County is home to a pair of Fortune 500 companies – Lincoln National and Airgas – and they’re both headquartered in Radnor.

Lincoln National, led by CEO Dennis R. Glass, checked in at No. 207, having generated revenues of $13.3 billion during the 2016 fiscal year. This marks the 23rd year it has made the list.

With revenues of $5.3 billion, Airgas – the largest American distributor of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, and hardgoods – narrowly made it, placing 489th during its fourth year on the list.t

In total, Fortune 500 companies represent two-thirds of the U.S. Gross Domestic Product with $12 trillion in revenues, $890 billion in profits, $19 trillion in market value, and employ 28.2 million people worldwide.

To be considered for the Fortune 500, companies must file financial statements with a government agency, be incorporated inside the U.S., and must also report financial statements for a minimum of three-quarters of the fiscal year.
