A Glen Mills malt house joins 19 other Pennsylvania veteran-owned/operated breweries to create a Memorial Day brew for military veterans, writes Max Bennett for patch.com.

Deer Creek Malthouse at 1629 Street Road is providing grain and malt to create “Adapt And Overcome.”

The beer is being brewed at 2nd Story Brewing in Philadelphia and GearHouse Brewing in Chambersburg.

The light drinking Hazy IPA will be released Memorial Day weekend at participating breweries.

This is the second time Pennsylvania breweries collaborated on a craft beer to honor the state’s veterans.  The first Memorial Day brew was released in 2019.

Then, 20 breweries across the state, including Aston Abbey Brewing in Aston, used West Chester hops to create the “Hurry Up And Wait” IPA.

That beer was brewed with 2,400 pounds of Keystone Pale, 440 pounds of Pale Oat Malt, and 220 pounds of Pale Triticale from Deer Creek Malthouse.

The hops was a hand-selected Yakima Veteran blend.

Beer sale proceeds in 2021 go to the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation.

The Foundation supports Pennsylvania veterans and their families. More than $2 million has been raised in eight years.

There are more than 350,000 Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard veterans in Pennsylvania still serving, or preparing for retirement.
