Safest Community Top 10 List in PA Includes This Delaware County Town

Upper Providence, with its population of 10,437, came in 4th on the list.
The safest community was Luzerne Township in Fayette County.
Median income in Upper Providence is $107,311.
In 2021, it had .2 incidents of violent crime per 1,000. That compares to .4 incidents in 2020 and .1 incidents in 2019.
In Pennsylvania, the average violent crime rate is 3.1 incidents per 1,000 people.
For property crime, Upper Providence had 2 incidents per 1,000 people in 2021, compared to 1.7 in 2020 and 2.8 in 2019.
In Pennsylvania, the average is 2 incidents per 1,000 people.
Though other Delaware County towns didn’t crack the top 10, some did make the top 50 on the list.
Swarthmore was 21st with a violent crime rate of .3 in 2021 and a property crime rate of 4.7.
Ridley Park came in 41st. It had a violent crime rate of 1 and a property crime rates of 6.7 in 2021.
